Has anyone had this procedure? It is when your vertebrae collapse and the fill it with this stuff that is like  cement. I am schedule to have it on Dec. 30th and am interested in knowing if anyone has had it and what to expect for recovery.

Hi Lori:  I have not had the surgery myself but I see patients almost daily who have had this procedure.  I see both older patients and cancer patients having the procedure done and in most cases the recover is pretty quick.  Some need physical therapy afterwards.

I'm sorry you have to go through this right around the Holidays, I think your gonna do just fine.  Sending a big hug to you anyways.

Hi Lori,

Check in the Edge forum for posts by Mike.  I think he's had this procedure.

Keeping you in my thoughts,

Lori, my aunt had that. It really helped stabilize her spine!
We better get the chopper ready for this!
See if you can get the OnQ pump for after the procedure.
It is a little ball filled with Marcaine or Lidocaine and it slowly releases into the tiny tubes that are placed in your surgical site. It REALLY numbs you and you won't have the pain of the procedure.

((((((BIG HUGS and LOTS OF PRAYERS!)))))
