Gina: They told me I could never take Estrogen after I had Breast Cancer. They said that estrogen aggrivates cancer. They told me this 20 some years ago. I had a historectomy at age 44 I have suffered with hot flashes ever since.

I just re-verified this statement with  my own onc October, '06.  My DH and I were going to Mexico for our (very) belated honeymoon.  I asked if I could use some vaginal estrogen cream so we could have a little more "fun" and he YELLED at me!!!!!  "I'm giving you drugs to take the estrogen out of you and you want to put more in?  NO!!!!!"

I think that means no!

My GYN and two oncs have said that a small amount, which is the size of the end of your finger, applied topically to the vaginal area is not absorbed enough to become systemic and that there have been tests done on women on their hormone levels after three months of use and their hormones did not increase, so they say it is safe.

Any other type of estrogen replacement is not permitted though.
