Mary,

Oh, I still have eyebrows and lashes.  I got a 1" haircut when I started losing hair.  My hair is sparce, but I still have hair.  The doctor had me take B100 Complex from the getgo.  I am wondering if the Biotin in that has preserved some of my hair.  Interesting.

Hi Kay, I am coming to your house for dinner, that's what.  I am making more money that I ever made in my life, but I don't have enough for rent, car, co-pays, insurance, supplements and food, too - Something always has to give.  But I am OK today!  My son and his precious little girl just left, we had a bike ride together, and made a mess of my living room   My three sisters live far away, and most of my grown friends, and my other son Robin.  It is a crying shame we are scattered around so much, because I love them all.  It must have been so special to have your daughter there.

I start the fifth weeks of rads tomorrow, out of 6.5 weeks.  My mind is clearer every week I am free of the chemo.  The time has gone pretty fast.  I know, I would love to hang out with some women who have dealt with this (and are on the same wave-length, what ever that is).  It has been such a daily blessing to me to come here and share freely    Love, Mary

With the latest studies that have come out of the ASCO conference, hopefully, they are now moving in the right direction to approving it for early stage disease.

Taxol is an effective drug. So don't worry about not getting a good med.

I just wish the insurance companies would stop behaving like Gods. If we get national health care, I don't think anyone will be able to get the new generation drugs for quite some time.

Mary,

I know what you mean - never enough money.

I am trying to get through this last A/C.  I have been on the couch most of the day.  The fatigue really gets me.  I sure hope taking the Taxol weekly helps.  Sounds like Michele has had some problems with it, but she says nothing like the A/C.  I am just feeling sorry for myself tonight.  I am tired.

Hope you are doing ok.

Kay,
I took the Taxol last summer for 12 weeks after AC. I am glad I got it weekly. It was a long summer, but fatigue was the only SE I had, and compared to the AC was very tolerable. I could still function as a busy (albeit tired) Mom of 9...
We discussed Abraxane , too, but again, same reasoning preventing it.
Go forward, don't second-guess your decision--live and hope in the light in which you had to work with...
ps The last AC was the yuckiest, but then you are done!!!

Janeen,

You are correct.  This last AC is yucky.

As I understand it, they are going to give me Benadryl IV with the Taxol.  My Onc. doesn't think I will need the steroids and Ativan.  The steroids do a number on me.  I will know what after first treatment.

Thanks,
Kay

Hey Kay,  Here is my 2 cents worth, take the ativan!  It helps and there is no reason to 'chance it' when you have a great way to deal with it all!!  The one time I tried to skimp on meds, I paid for it!  Hugs,  Lee
