My best friend's mother-in-law passed away this morning.

She has been a wonderful person! She was first diagnosed in 1982 and has fought it off and on ever since.

She was such a great person. I only met her a couple of years ago when my friend met her husband, but she was always very supportive of me in my situation.

I like to think that she is now my Guardian Angel!

I will miss you Mary Ellen!

Sam

We will add her to the Garden Angels List.

Sam,

I'm so sorry for your loss.  You know that only the best are taken.  You will have a wonderful guardian angel now.

Thank you to everyone.

She was 67 and really had such a full life. She always did the things she loved. If she didn't feel well, she took a break. But really persevered and enjoyed her life.

She got to meet her two grandchildren and enjoy their first year of life before she went to rest.

She is an inspiration to have fought it for 25 years!

Sam, I'll be 63 in May; diagnosed at age 60.  I'm so very thankful your friend got to meet and enjoy her grandchildren.  My youngest one is 2 months.  I'm sure that was a great joy and something that was bitter sweet also.

Hugs to you. Thank you for sharing your memories.   You have brought tears to my eyes.       Brenda

My friend always says that her faith kept her going for so long.

Here is her obit:

What I liked about her is she wasn't afraid to tell God some pretty nasty things now and then. She was certainly faithful, but honest!

Am I horrible?

I couldn't bring myself to go to the wake for my friend's mother-in-law.

I planned on it since I heard the news and then today, I couldn't do it.

I try not to compare situations, but I couldn't bring myself to go and see someone who died from the disease I have had twice.

I just couldn't do it. I only pray that my friend and her husband understand.

I sent flowers and I spoke with them over the weekend to offer any help to them for things.

I feel terrible.

I find I cannot deal with wakes at all lately either .... especially ones who passed from BC. Forced myself to go to my friend's husbands's wake and had nightmares for weeks after. It is a normal reaction and I am sure everyone will understand. Don't be so hard on yourself.
Hugs

I'm so sorry Sam! My heart to you!

We just happen to know what it's all about now, showing up for the wake isn't here nor there. The bond you got with Mary Ellen was everything!

Soar Mary Ellen, Soar!

Love,
Deese
