Dear Energybunny and  Anniecamel,
I also have the triple negative breast cancer.
I finished my chemotherapy and radiation and I am doing much better now.
I am scared too. But then I come here and I feel better.
I will say prayers for both of you.
Warmly,
Penny

Energybunny,

Just to let you know... if you have a butt, but no tummy, they can do the same type of procedure as the DIEP.  It's called a GAP and they take the tissue from your butt.  (How's that for a win-win situation?)

Personally, with my tummy and butt, I could repopulate a dozen chests.  LOL...

Thanks Everyone!  Glad to know that in addition to childbirth, hips and butts come in handy for something.

Just did my workout and finally got my apt. with a nutritionist all set up for July 3rd.  It is a professor in nutrition who specializes in breast cancer at MSU.  I am excited.  I have been avidly reading here on how to eat and think I hve a lot of it down.  Low fat, high fiber, most fruit and veggies.  Low on meat.  But get the high protein.  Everything humanly possible, I am trying to incorporate into my life.  Although I think I did pretty well before diagnosis, I am more serious now.  I have taken the wine out of my life and miss it sometimes, but if it makes a difference I will do it!    Thanks all!!  -Lee  You all make this so much more tolerable.  To not be a lone is HUGE!!

Hi Everyone,

Just got subscribed today and very happy to meet some fighters!  I've been reading all the responses and it seems that a lot have had A/C and Taxol with pretty much the same diagnosis as myself.  Am I missing something because my oconlogist felt that A/C x 4 was more than enough.  I'm a little concerned.

Any comments or suggestions, I see my onc next week.

Triple Neg

Hi Sonja,
I am glad you found us.
Triple negs are a hearty bunch aren't we?

I didn't have A/C or Taxol for my triple neg. I had CMF.
I had a 1.3 cm tumor, no nodes, but grade 3, very aggressive tumor.
That was in 2001!
And it has been found that if you don't have a recurrence within the first 3-4 years of triple negative breast cancer, you most likely will NEVER have one.

So far so good for me, it will be 7 years come September

I did get breast cancer again in the "good" breast but it was a new primary, er/pr positive and lobular. It had nothing at all to do with the first one.
This time I had Adriamycin, Abraxane and Xeloda. I am also on Lupron to put me into meno and Femara.

I am happy to read you were grade 2. That is great. It is good to have an intermediate grade triple neg cancer! That is probably why you didn't have Taxol.

Take heart- I didn't have Adriamycin or Taxol and it has been 7 years for me!

Hugs,
g

Gina,

You were right, you had answered this question already

Right now, I'm just a worrying fool!  I am doubting everything and in a panick.  It helps to read encouraging comments and women battling and winning against TN.

Does the worry get better?  Every ache and pain I think is cancer!
