My inspiration, my friend, and a trailblazer on the PARP Inhibitor trials has chosen to go on hospice.

I'm not sure if you all knew her.  She and CalGal were my heroes.

I wish Lani a peaceful transition.

Much love,
Caryn

CarynRose,

Pinehouse & CalGal are women I've been in touch with since diagnosis, and beyond.  What does this new information mean?  Lani in hospice?  I am so sad to read this...

I will go to BCorg and see what's up.  It's beginning to get to me.  It is a helpless, uncertain dizziness.

Love
Indi

Caryn,
I have heard about our dear Lani. I follow her blog. It breaks my heart. The only comfort I am getting is that now that hospice has begun, she is on meds that ease her pain and make her peaceful and all the rotten chemo is done.
Thank you for posting this.

Indi, It is sad and heartbreaking. The information can be found on Pinehouse's blog pinehouse.wordpress.com

Let's take each other's hand and hold on tight,
love

I can barely read on this thread because another sister is going to be an angel soon.
I am so heartbroken for Pinehouse and Calgal.
Prayers, but I really want to scream.....

What blows me away is Lani's presence of mind to continue to communicate her experience, even as she is in hospice.  Oh, I so don't want to lose her.

Lani is With Us: A Little Note about a Friend and Fellow Warrior

I view Lani (Pinehouse) being in hospice as primarily a matter of recapturing some grace in life and in care.  This is Lani after all, one  of the most extraordinary women most of us have the rare honor and pleasure to know and count as friend, with phenomenal courage and strength, and absolutely stunning intelligence (I have often said she  would be a first-rate oncologist with not much more effort than she demonstrates in her exceptional  mastery of every aspect of TNBC  and CNS  disease - I view her  as a peer and colleague in the realm of oncology).

So I assure everyone here and the many more who care so deeply for her that although she may  be in hospice, Lani is very much with and among us, but as  I like to say, just with a change of address.

What a beautiful sentiment Constantine. I was so grateful to receive posts from Lani (Pinehouse), with both useful information and encouraging words, when I first joined this forum in March. I second your opinions of her incredible strength and intelligence.

Peace and love to Lani and her family,
janet
