I have been fascinated, awe-struck, amazed, and entertained during these spectacular Olympic events...and the "Curling"...
Tessa Virtue & Scott Moir, what Canadian Angels these stars...are...

Thank you, Canada...when I leave this world, I can whisper to myself, I saw all I love in this Skating Dance Couple...

Love,

I have been a fan of ice dance since before Torvill and Dean. Tessa and Scott were beautiful to watch it is their complete programme. I loved the little kiss of her hand at the begging  of their prgramme. But i also loved the American pair that won silver. it was lovely to see both pairs interract during warm up. Both these pairs are a real credit to their countries. must admit I sang O Canada along with them and the crowd......

I watched the ice dancing long program last night with friends ... and was amazed at the talent - the Canadian couple was so wonderful to watch - as was the silver medal winning USA couple ...   I wasn't thrilled with the Russian couple who won bronze - it just didn't seem right for them to be using the "ropes" on their costumes as props to help with their positions.    The firebird dancers were really incredible too...

These olympic athletes push each other harder and harder - so many of the events are "extreme sports" with such talent and risk of personal safety.

I haven't watched any curling or hockey - but have finally learned the purpose of the sweeper in front of the "rock" -  it's clearing and melting the ice so the rock continues its' forward motion ...

Wish I had more free time to watch more of the Olympics!

Does anyone know when they changed the rules? I remember when ice dancers were not allowed to do lifts... now that seems to be gone?

I don't know but it seems the last 5 years more and more lifts, death spirals more like pairs. Torvill and Dean host a skating programme on British TNnd they can still skate like this..Thanks Gina for bring back beautiful memories. IN 1984 I was in hospital doped up with Morphine after a C section when they won goldIi struggled to keep awake and not move

I think in ice dancing they can't lift over their heads or something like that..
I miss Martini and Underhill, especially when they danced to
Unchained Melody..
We used to go to the ice shows that featured the Olympic stars right after
an Olympics but then they started blasting the music soooooo loud that we
quit going...
I loved it but even with ear plugs it was deafening..
