Tubule formation: 2/3
Nuclear grade: 3/3
Mitotic count: 1/3

My last tumor was 2/3 in each category.

Low positive estrogen and no progesterone (same as previous tumor)

Apocrine features (like last one)

Moderately differentiated (like last one)

Greatest extent of invasive carcinoma: .4 cm

No angiolymphatic invasion identified

Thoughts?

Sam

Hi Sam,
This is a good report.
It is a slow growing cancer and it is TINY.
And it says that it has not spread anywhere.

This really is a break you got here. I am so relieved you have such a lazy tumor!

It sounds so much like the old one- I bet it was just a microscopic spec that they missed when they didn't get the clean margin and it took this many years to finally grow large enough to be detected.

My honest opinion? You will get through this great and be done with it for once and for all!

Love,
g

I hope so, but I am totally freaking out about the thing in my neck. I felt it and then it lit up on the PET scan.

I keep telling myself that without them seeing other lymph node involvement, it just couldn't have gotten there. Or, if it did, it was probably rerouted or something because of the lymph nodes they took out during the last surgery.

But, my nature makes me freak out about it and what it means and then scares the hell out of me when I think about it in terms of the words, "mets" and "stage".

Thank goodness Keith was there last night when I totally broke down and freaked out about it. I swear my one cat knows something is up. Ever since this all started, he has been sitting with me and sleeping with me. Either that or he is doing it because it is getting cold out again. He was with me the last time and I think he is in tune with things. My other cat, dog, and the little kitten don't really have a clue, but Ozzy used to check up on me when I was home during chemo weeks.

he is your chemocat! Of course he remembers what you went through last time!!

Sam,  breathe honey! Your neck lymph node lit up. But you also had radioactive treatment to your neck this summer. And PETs light up for other reasons too- like healing areas and places where there were broken bones.

And I remember how you "freak" but I also remember what a tough cookie you are too!!

Can you do anything right this minute about that lymph node? Is worrying about it going to make it go away? So Forgetabboutit!!!

Worry about it when you KNOW you have something to worry about.

Tell Keith hey from me.

Love,
g

Thanks. I think I would worry less about it if I couldn't feel it, but I can. It is like having a little bebe in there or something. It is probably 1 mm away from the right end of my thyroid scar. They had ultrasounded it and said it looked like a normal lymph node, but then it lit up.

Keith keeps reminding me that my surgeon doesn't seem too concerned about it right now so I shouldn't be either. I told him that I just can't wake up and hear those words that it is bad.

Ozzy is such a good kitty. He always knows when I need him. Morgan is just getting fatter every day and the little one just wants to be in the house all the time. Our dog, Buddy is just happy to do anything. Ahh...to be a dog.
