I haven't seen much here about our husbands, so I just wanted to have a place to write about mine. When I was diagnosed back in February, stage 2, triple negative, my husband was right there with me. He stayed by my side as we told our kids and our families, cried with me, prayed for me, hated to leave me in the mornings to go to work and didn't let me out of his sight when he came home. He has come to every doctor appointment, taken meticulous notes, researched what it means to be triple negative and made sure we both understood exactly what was happening. He was with me through surgery and cared for me afterward. We have 3 young children. During chemo he came with me every time, sitting through those boring hours trying to fend of calls from co-workers so that he could pay attention to me. Then once home, he took over the household chores during my bad days, took the kids out for fun activities and made my life easy. Now I am 6 treatments from finishing radiation and he continues to be by my side. He has shown extraordinary patience and thoughtfulness and demonstrated a depth of love for me that leaves me without the words to thank him. I am so grateful that God gave me this man, he is my hero. It is my prayer that any woman who has to go through this has someone like my husband to be by her side.

Thank you for indulging me in my praise of my husband. I hope others will share their good experiences too.

Julie

Hi Julie,  Right there with you!  I have a great guy as well.  Your story sounds so much like mine but I have to add that I have parents who live 3 blocks from who have been right there next to him!  The love and support from our loved ones at times such as these is remarkable!  Makes it bearable!

You are lucky to have someone who supports and loves you regardless of whatever might happen to one or the other.  It's called "unconditional love", by psychologists, children, heavenly people and those enormously touched by the wisdom and true love.

You are blessed to know, and you are blessed to be known, and to love and be loved by your hero.  God Bless.

Love,
Indi
