MB, with this new chemo all my exercise plans went straight out the window.

I have been trying to do stretches and walking, but it is hard with the neuropathy.

Where do I begin?

G...hugs....ok I know this sounds like a cop out...BUT...do you still have the pedometer...well...start by taking very small walks...around the kitchen...around the living room...blast the circle girls CD.....

simple stretches...like the flying ones I posted

stand with your feet slightly apart

start by slowly lifting your arms...the best you can...

* first type....arms out to the side palms up...now slowly..raise them..as far as you can....turn palms down..slowly lower them....repeat...relax your arms...bend your knees slightly...BREATHE.....

* 2....with arms at your side...and relaxed..sway your body slightly to the right, and sway your arms also...lifting them up slightly to the right lift off your left foot...sway back to the center....BREATHE.....repeat to the left...

kind of like flying....

These are relaxed movements...put some soothing music on...relax...

hugs...
MB

MB:  Oh no!  Now Im gonna feel guilty about not exercising.  Love the stretching post.  Guess I better start doing something besides walking.  I lost my pedometer about 4 weeks ago and need to run out and get a new one.

Dear wise exercise woman - love ya!  Hehehehehee

I have signed up to do the 5K Komen race with Tri.  Last year we did the 1K fun walk.   I need something to whip my butt into shape fast since it's on Oct. 20th.  I'm walking but am having horrid shin splint pain.  Yes I'm warming up before walking.  Oh and don't forget the Arimidex ankles/knees.

I need to come back and walk up and down the hill.  I sure do miss it.

jenni - I do think that the dentist appointment should count.  They are quite strenuous.  Good idea for rehab.  Just be carefull!

Thanks & Hugs

hehehehe...jenni I am so glad you joined us from chat...I was thinking I joined 3 threads that don't always know each other...the wagon circle, the drinking thread and Chat...now we are all family...that I sure do miss.....

OK first Liz, so give tri a hug I miss her...
stretches...for the walk...you need to do these daily..sorry...but they are easy

place a large phone book(in my area it takes 2 or 3) on the floor ...sitting in your chair, or while your chroceting...
place your toes on the top, pull your heels down ...hold for a count of five
now push up....same thing hold for 5 count..
now roll your ankles out and end up on the side of your foot...hold
and roll them in...

now I know it will be hard to do daily but I have faith in you and you don't want me calling you everyday do you....

I posted some other knee & ankle one and will go back..and reppost when Iget a chance...

Jenni...tread mills are great....but don't forget the other stuff besides cardio...

and do these too

MB the exercise CZAR.....lol...

Hi MB - I own a treadmill, stationary bike, and elyptical machine but I haven't been motivated enough to use them.  Hormone treatments are causing achy joints and are making me gain wait.  I do a lot of walking at work but no wait loss.  Any suggestions on how I can get motivated to use the exercise equipment and what routine I could follow to loose wait?

Thanks,
Odalys

Odalys....

OK its simple...do NOT go to ed until you reach 10,000 steps...get a pedometer at WalMArt  about $3.00...even if you have to walk around the coffee table ..get those steps in...I work behind a desk for 10 hopurs an dlet me tell you I know how hard it is .......

Start small.....count your steps.....

PS becareful...I'll be in Fla soon and will hunt you down...lol...

hi MB
I have started exercising consistently since being back from pinkstock.  i have a personal trainer (big bucks but it keeps me honest).  i will check in so you can help keep me honest.  i don't think the 10,000 steps will work for me with my bum knees.  So I am doing weights 2 or 3 days a week and in the pool 2 days.  right now it is really hard.  but my trainer says after a couple of weeks I will start to feel better.

so i'm on track.  just hoping i can stay there.

MB, just wanted you to know that I didn't want to lose my momentum from boot camp so tonight rode my hubby's exercise bike for 1/2 hour tonight.  Tomorrow night 40 minutes.

everyone keep up the good work....

OK a little tummy work....

sitting on the floor....hands behind your head, or cupped around your ears, is my favorite place...

now for the work...(an evil laugh)

raise your feet, keeping your legs as straight as you can....

1-2-3 now lean back slightly....ha....hold it

the goal is a nice V shape....

realx and repeat....don't for get to breathe and drink 8 glasses of water a day...and 10,000 steps

OK ... here I go! and I'm determined
Joined weight watchers last night and bought my pedometer. So tell me ... how many steps are we supposed to start out with?? Can I lift LIGHT weight with my LE arm? What do you think of Pilates??
I'm determined to get 20lbs post chemo/tamoxifen off.
