Look Good Feel Better is also in Canada.
It is run by a fabulous woman, Sherry Abbott, who survived a very rare form of cancer that had no cure.... she is over a 20 year survivor! She also wrote the fabulous book, "Cancer and the Art of Healing"

LOOK GOOD FEEL BETTER®

HELPING WOMEN WITH CANCER

Celebrating 15 years, Look Good Feel Better® is Canada’s only national cancer charity dedicated to helping women manage the effects that cancer and its treatment have on their appearance. Our free tools and training empower women to look and feel a little more like themselves again, boosting confidence and morale.

There's some excellent Canadian specific sites out there:

http://www.cbcf.org/en-US/home.aspx

http://www.cancerbackup.org.uk/Home  (British site actually but excellent)

Hello to all Canadian women out there.  I'm from Schomberg, 40km north of Toronto.  Treatment will be at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Newmarket and Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto (rads).

Hi everyone
Thanks for that info Gina ... I always thought LGFG was sarted in the states!

Nice to see you Snowgirl .. those are excellent sites. I have a few more but I am in panic mode getting ready for my relay for life on Friday. Saturday and Sunday will most likely be spent in my recliner so I can find my info and post it.

I am from Smiths Falls which is a smal town about 1 hour from Ottawa.Surgery was at the Queensway-Carleton, chemo at the General and rads at the Civic. I covered all the Ottawa hospitals lol

I may not always have time to post but I always read. I am always here for anyone who has questions or just plain wants to vent... just PM me or post
Hugs
Cheryl

I live just North of Toronto, had my surgery at a local hospital and my radiation treatments at the Princess Margaret.

PMH seems to be my location for radiation after chemo.  My mom received excellent treatment there 8 years ago.  She did pass away at PMH but the care she  and all of the family received was second to none.

Good to see you too. I'm doing good Cheryl. Tweaking my meds here and there and hoping to feel better. Schomberg is about 30 minutes north/west of me. I'm in Woodbridge. When I was going for rads, the Canadian Cancer Society arranged all the transportation for me. That was a great help.

Happy Canada Day to all the Canuck girls!  Absolutely perfect day here in S. Ontario - clear skies and 27C.  Pulled some weeds (as much as my incision would allow!), drank some wine and just finished BBQ souvlaki pork.  Ended with fresh Ont strawberries, whipped cream and chocolate sauce.  Boy, I hope I don't lose my taste buds for them during chemo!
