It sounds like  there still is some indeterminacy about bone and lung nodule status, so has this now been resolved one way  or the other  via the Bone MRI and others diagnostic tests?  Based on these findings, we can then know more precisely what we are dealing with and discuss treatment options if any  are  needed.

Edge,

believe it or not, my *@#^^ insurance is dragging its feet about the approval for the spinal MRI and bone scan...I STILL have not heard when my appointments are.

My oncologist gave me a sliver of hope, yet I dont understand...there are so many places they saw ares of concern...my hip, my T9 and my shoulder and the node in my lung....do you think all of those could be false alarms? I am almost scared to hope that this might be so.

We are military, and tomorrow I will be phoning the breast health clinic to speak to one of the ladies there who says she liasons with our insurance company to make sure that this exact thing doesnt happen to women who
are dealing with this stuff...

Lesley,
Tricare will give you a case manager, which is helping you out. DEMAND one if you don't have one!!
When the onc requests those scans, they are through within days. If not, the case manager will hopefully help. My first one wasn't good, the other one was better.
Family practice doesn't give a hoot, then there is no referal but I have not seen a scan that the onc requested, that didn;t get done.
Put some thumb on the onc's office too, ask for his nurse.

Best wishes!

well, I am having the scans done tomorrow, my MRI is at 8:00 am and I get injected for the bone scan at 9:00am...then I guess I come back 3 hours later for the actual bone scan.

I am a nervous wreck. Please send prayers for a miracle

I'll be thinking about you and praying for both of us, sending you good vibes from my CT scanner at 9 MST, which time zone are you in?

Lesley,
Not to "blow Sunshine" but PETs pick up a lot of "flotsam".  My PET missed my inflammatory bowel condition, but lit up my stomach, adrenals, and a foreign body large cell mass in my breast.  Because of this, I was pretty panicked.  The areas that lit up ended up being nothing.  Your onc is right; you need more proof of anything happening.  Until then, take a deep breath, know that you are not alone, that you are loved, and that you will get through this.
