My husband just called our family Dr called  him with the results of pet/ct scan the nasty little nodule in the lung(which the thoracic surgeon has followed for 6year) lit up it is defintley cancer but nothing else lit up. So I have a fighting chance I think its going to mean some major surgery and a rough road but this means i have a much better prognosis. now i will put on my big girls panties as my grls say and do battle.

woohoo... that is incredibly positive news....  I'm doing the happy dance for you....  better prognosis  ..   why did the surgeon watch that spot for 6 whole years ????? so happy that it was a slow growing/non growing cancer.....

Hugs,
Doreen

Thanks everyone there was a small amout of growth if you totalled it up over the years but most time the ct scan showed no significant change. it is a huge surgery and he was never sure what it was and not in a position to biopsy. also complicating the fact that  i am a breast cancer curvivor so we won't know what it is till they remove. I have stayed on Femara past  the 7 years so I suppose it is a possibility that it is  bc mets to lung. It was only that i developed a solitary brain met that showed lung  cancer that they decided to Pet scan me... the ct scan last week showed no significant change......... I am what is commonly known as an interesting patient
