My hair is really growing now. You can barely see my scalp..but it's still kind of funny looking, very wavy, curly in some places and if it wasn't, if it was straight it would be much longer. I am getting it highlighted and trimmed, very slightly trimmed cause if they cut more then I tell them I will knock someone out! yeah. lol Happy I have my hair back...but I still look like my mother. lol not that my mom does not look good but I want to look like ME!

I feel like I am up at the moment..you know being up from being down. It's not because I won the lottery, and it's not because I finally left this house and moved into my own place...and it's not because I bought a new wardrobe that I happen to need..it's just because I truly appreciate feeling good after not feeling well for some time. I am enjoying the things I used to enjoy before cancer entered my mind and body.
Well, here's to life's up's and down's and I am happy to be up now.. hoping to stay there for a while..but you know what happens...and it happens to all of us. Living in the moment...oh so living in the moment.

Love you guys,
Jennine

Jennine, you sound great, girl.
Hey, when I was at your stage of hairgrowth I had one of the brazillian straightening treatments and my hair looked so much longer. They are expensive, but if you look in the Pennysaver, many salons have them on sale for proms, etc.
I think there is a place in Roslyn that does them half price and really well!

I had my last chemo on 7/5/2010 and my hair is growing back, though much slower than I like.  However ... I just got my first hair cut!!  It was growing straight up like a scrub brush on top and I just had to get it shaped.  I went for the Judith Dench look and am keeping the natural grey. I've made the new do my new avatar <--------

Your doo is spectacular!  I just got my first haircut post-chemo too, and also went for the short look.  Isn't it nice to actually have a style again, instead of looking like that poor lady with cancer who finally has stubble?  I hope your hair growth picks up speed and you are able to have the exact style you want soon.

Thanks for the support.  I'm letting it grow still, although some days I think I look like Richard Blaize on Top Chef!  Growing hair back is just such an incredibly hopeful thing and all your positive responses are so appreciated.  I am blessed.  Thank you!
