Coco - Did you see this??  Gina - what a great inspirational series. You have beautiful "bone structure" and look great in all those hair-dos.  I will give it another three months, and hope to toss the wig by the deep heat of August.  THANKS FOR TAKING THE TIME TO PUT THAT TOGETHER!  M

Mary, see the different expressions?
The first one, newly re-diagnosed, about to start chemo, just got a port put in and I look a tad FREAKED OUT

The second one I am at the end of nine months of chemo and laughing and not caring if my pic is taken with bows on my head!

The third one I am being seen for the first time by everyone at that wedding without a wig. I also have a bit of a glow because I spent half the day in the ER getting IV antibiotics for an infection in the recon and got the ER docs to spring me so I could make it to the wedding- I have a bit of a defiant look, no?

And the last one was taken sitting on my bedroom floor right before I went outside to paint my fence.

Luv the photos Gina!!  You do have great bone structure!

I finished my treatments Feb 23.  I had my eyebrows done last week for the first time since oct '08.  What a GREAT feeling!  I am far from a haircut but was thrilled to have my eyebrows back.

Gina - you are beautiful -inside and out.  Thank you so much for the inspiration.  Had my port put in today and my face looks nothing like yours - ouch!  I am in pain - don't think I could smile for anything tonight.  But your pics have geen me hope, faith and everything else that's good - start my chemo on Thursday.

Hugs,
Linda

Thank you for posting your lovely picture and locks!!  I am wondering if regrowth tends to be more gray--I don't have any yet at 51 yrs but was wondering.

Hi Ms Bliss - I am 59, and my hair started coming back in during the DD taxol treatments this spring.  I finished the chemo two weeks ago, and by then I had a 1/2 in. downy cover over my head.  Last October when I started my hair was fine, curly brown with a little silver on top here & there - now it is silver white all over the top and a little browner on the sides - very much more gray.   And I would call it 'thin'.  I am not surprised.  But I hear this downy fluff might be replaced eventually by stronger hair?  I have been taking the B vitamin Biotin for about month now, in hopes that will mean something.   I've had a couple of dreams about having a nice head of wavy gray hair.  It looks pretty funny right now - M

Hi Ms Bliss, I got a lot of gray back. But it didn't last long, thanks to medium Ash Brown #7!

Mary, don't worry! You will get waves! Boy oh boy will you!

hey everyone,
I started chemo Oct. 7, '08 and my hair started to regrow at the beginning of Feb., '09. I did 4 A/C's then paclataxol (allergic reaction to #2) So, I got 9 treatments of Abraxane. My last one was on March 23, '09.
I was so excited to see and feel the baby hair coming in. It's just the same as before, so far. Same dish water blond and straight. I will color it to my preferred color soon (lt. blond)
When I had my surgery (lumpectomy on April 16), I didn't wear my hat to the hospital, who cared?

A week later I stopped wearing it altogether. I have about an inch or so.
When I ditched the hat I felt so free. I love it. I never thought the day would come. I no longer feel like I'm hiding from the world, well maybe just a little, until it gets a little thicker. But, I still feel free. ha ha!!!!

I can tell my eyebrows/lashes are starting to fill in slowly, but surely.

I'm going to take some pic of me and post them this weekend.
I have pic of my long hair before. Then my cut to very short. Then my buzz cut. My bald head and in Feb. when it first started and now. I will post them all. I have to take a new one first.

Gina, you are so beautiful-
such an inspiration to us all. Your pic helped me so much when I was so depressed about my baldness. you always reassured me it WILL grow back and posted your pic. I always thought about that and still do.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

Stacy

Open up a photobucket.com account
Download your photos
Then copy the direct link that is underneath them and paste it here in your post by clicking on the picture above with the mountain in it.
It will say: "Please enter the URL of your image."
That is where you put it.
Then press post message when done.

IF THAT DOESN"T WORK
When you are in your photobucket account you will also get this option:
if you click on the "more" feature offered in photobucket:
