Well, I guess I am making progress.   I had a mugascan yesterday and had my port put in place today.   It's a little sore right now but it will be okay.   I'm glad that is over with!   They said I can remove the bandages and shower, etc. tomorrow.   My first chemo treatment is scheduled for Monday.   I guess I need to start wig shopping now, too.   So much to do!  One sad note.....the girl coming out of the recovery room as I was going into the OR today was diagnosed at the same time I was.   We were talking with her mom.   She looked so young.   She had just had her port placed also.  The mom said the cancer has spread to her liver.   I asked her how old she is.   She said 38.   I felt so bad for her.   I am 44.  It seems like more and more younger people are being diagnosed.  Such a shame.   I hope she does okay.

Hi Carolyn-You will be so happy you got that port. I know I was when I saw other people getting chemo without one. I was 45 when dx with 2 small boys. I remember my mom saying that when she was 45 she did not know anyone or anyone who knew anyone with bc. She was dx at 65. She is almost 74 now.
