I know I am just getting around to this thread and it is old, but I'd like to comment on Gina's initial questions about God: Life here is not about us, it is about God. We tend to hold a perspective that we are the center of our lives, when truly we are here to serve God and glorify Him. He has a plan and our time here on earth is all part of that plan. We see only the small piece, He sees the big picture. My niece died from Leukemia two years ago at age 12. Sometimes God has to let people die when they do to fit things into the picture. He always answers our prayers, but we have to understand that what our will is, may not be His will and the answer could be "no". I have been very blessed that although I have cancer, He has answered my prayers with a "yes" so far. I believe that even though I have this disease (which He did not give me) He has cradled me in His arms and let me get through the chemo without too much trouble, to have negative margins and nodes and to get through radiation (with a little trouble). Some people see chemo as poison. Not me. It is the way God provided me to get well. I don't see my doctors as people who are uncaring and inept either. God gave me some really great, caring people who have saved my life.  I know this disease kills people who we love, but to go on bitterly is wasted energy. To hold to the faith that God knows what He is doing is life. I put my trust in Him. After all, His son made the sacrifice for me so that I can get to heaven when the time comes. I think your friend Ferne knew that too and she and every woman who has died of this disease, if you could talk to them today, would tell you to look to God and obey Him because He is the way to heaven.

 Thank you  Julie and welcome.

I think most of us struggle at times and it is so
nice to be able to express our thoughts and feelings and beliefs with others.
