Take a breather from the daily grind of breast cancer 24/7

Feel the sun against your skin

Hear the sound of children's laughter

Watch a hawk make a lazy circle way up high in the sky

Come here to this forum and post a nice image or thought to clear your mind and spirit of all the darkness that has been around the cyberworld of late.....

"We are made of blue sky and golden light and we will feel this way forever...."

This is the quote that fills me with hope:

"When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things shall happen;
Either you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly."

What really great posts by both of you. I enjoyed them so much. I'll have to come back with some of mine. I can't think right off hand but there are so many good ones.

" There's no skill in easy sailing when the sky is clear and blue
There's no joy in merely doing things that anyone can do
But there is great satisfaction that is mighty sweet to take
When you reach a destination that you thought you couldn't make"

The LAST TIME I FELT LIFE LIKE A WOMAN, AS A WOMAN; FELT MY HEART SKIP A COUPLE BEATS...BEFORE DIAGNOSED AND TREATED WITH SURGERY, A YEAR OF CHEMOTHERAPY AND THEN RADIATION; THE LAST TIME A HUMAN BEING FLATTERED ME AND MADE ME FEEL PRETTY.  IT WAS A HARMLESS FLIRTATION, BUT I WAS FLUTTERY AND EMBARASSED, LIKE A TEENAGER.

IT WAS AN APPLE FARMER; HE FOUND ME ATTRACTIVE, AND I PURCHASED ABOUT 50 VARIETIES OF APPLES AND FRESH CIDER.  I TOLD HIM I WAS MARRIED, AND HE APOLOGIED FOR BEING SO FORWARD AND ROMANTICALLY PUSHY; BUT I NEVER GOT TO TELL HIM HOW NICE HE ME FEEL.  IT HAD BEEN YEARS SINCE A MAN OR WOMAN HAD TOLD ME I LOOKED SEXY, ATTACTIVE, AND PRETTY, AND COMPLIMENT MY INTELLECT REMARKING ON THE VAST KNOWLEDGE I HAD REGARDING HERITAGE APPLES, JOHNNY APPLESEED, AND ART.  MY GRANDPA WAS A FRUIT FARMER.

A FEW WEEKS LATER, I FOUND THE LUMP.  I REMEMEMBER THINKING IT WAS HURTING MY CHEST THAT DAY.  THE "APPLE LETCH", AS MY HUSBAND REFERRED TO HIM, CARRIED OUT ALL THE APPLES AND GALLONS OF CIDER, NOT ALLOWING ME TO CARRY ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE APPLE MY DOG AND I WERE MUNCHING  IT WAS AN APPLE FARM IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COUNTRY, ON A RIVER, WITH BIRDS SINGING, CRACKLING LEAVES, SUNLIGHT PINK AND GOLDEN GLIMMERING THROUGH THE AUTUMN LEAVES, GOLDEN, ORANGE GLOWING, GREENS AND REDS.  THE TALL, DARK, HANDSOME APPLE  FARMER HAD NO IDEA HOW WONDERFUL HE MADE ME FEEL. IT'S TOO LATE TO TELL HIM NOW; HE'S GONE FROM THIS WORLD.  HE PASSED AWAY A FEW MONTHS AGO; DIED, AND I ONLY HEARD ABOUT IT RECENTLY.

IT WAS A GRAND DAY.

I NEVER FELT LIKE A 'WOMAN' AGAIN.  INSTANT MENOPAUSE, HORMONE CHANGES,, NEUROPATHY, A BALD HEAD, AND A HUSBAND WHO LOOKS THROUGH ME AND NEVER HEARS A WORD I SAY, ANYMORE.  I AM COMPLETELY ALONE.  THE ANIMALS ARE MY FRIENDS AND COMPANIONS.  THE DOCTORS VIEW ME AS 'FINISHED'.  A SLAB OF OVERCOOKED POISON FLESH, AND WILL BE GLAD TO BE RID OF THIS PAIN IN THE ASS PATIENT.

I FONDLY RECALL MY LAST DAYS OF FEELING PRETTY, SEXY, SASSY, AND SMART.  THAT HUMBLE BEAUTIFUL APPLE MAN GAVE ME AN IMAGE, A SILLY MEMORY WHICH I NOW CHERISH; TOOK IT FOR GRANITE BEFORE DX.  MAGICAL =  SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LITTLE WORLD

GINA, THANK YOU FOR THIS IDEA...IT'S KIND OF LIKE TAKING A VACATION TO ANYWHERE YOU WANT TO GO.  I HOPE IT'S ALL RIGHT TO PLAY WITH ALL THE COLORS.  I WAS TRYING TO FIND APPLES, AUTUMN AND HEARTS OF JOYFUL MEMORIES...MANY; THIS WAS THE LAST TIME, HOWEVER.  NEVER TOLD ANYONE ABOUT HOW DEEPLY AFFECTED I WAS BY THAT DAY I MET AN APPLE FARMER, AFTER TAKING A LONG WALK THROUGH THE WOODS WITH MY DOG; WE WERE THIRSTY, HUGRY, AND STUMBLED ONTO THE PLACE ON OUR WAY HOME.

MY HUSBAND WAS HOME, WATCHING GOLF AND LAW AND ORDER TORTURE PROGRAMS....

THANKS AGAIN,
INDI
