Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since I last posted...I mostly read and browse. :-)

I am now one year cancer free!!!  I had my annual exam with my oncologist and received great news...nothing suspicious.

I'm divorced...been single for about 8 years...and used to enjoy dating.

However, after breast cancer....bilateral mast..reconstruction, chemo and radiation, I just don't think I have the energy for dating.

And to be honest...I don't know how I could be with someone after all I my body has been through.

Anyone else experience those sames feelings?

hi Maryann! Nice to see you again!

You are in luck.... I have a book coming out on this very subject!
http://www.amazon.com/Intimacy-After-Breast-Cancer-Relationships/dp/0757003249/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1263843312&sr=8-1

It will be available late Feb early March...
There is a site that will accompany it to go along with our NS site.
But we can surely start the discussion now!

Hello, Maryann!

It's great to see you...and wonderful news!

Breast Cancer does change everything; and in my case, the problems I chose to ignore before BC, were magnified, big-time.  I have thought about changing my life completely, and dating would be difficult...I don't think it's something I'd do, simply because, "once bitten, twice shy".  Trust... I don't think I can trust anyone again, ever, as long as I live.

I have several friends who went through dating services like, eHarmony, and filled out the questionnaire, honest answers...apparently, it's possible to meet people who "get it".  Why bother with people who don't "get it"?, if possible, eliminate the negative attitudes.  All the friends, and one relative, have re-married, and are living happily, no joke...ever after a serious illness, including Breast Cancer.  All of these people had to be talked into trying it.

Just thought I'd comment...and tell you about some success stories.

Gina...I am ordering your book tomorrow...can't wait!!!

Love,
Indi
