My father was an elegant ballroom dancer; did the Tango, the Rumba, Walzes, and even the Chubby Checker!  He looked kind of like Fred Astair handsome, thins, tall, and probably a handsome "catch" back in the days when men wore hats, wore shiney shoes, were polite to women, and had hgit hopes for all things beutiful and futureistic.  He was born in  1916,art deco, jazz, the new world; a classy gentle man, my pops.  He danced like a prince.  Why he married a woman with 5 legs, I"ll never know.  All left foot and no sense of style, music, beat, rythem; but she was a beauty; a sottish long hair blue eyed writer; he was an artist.  They had nothing in common.

Well, they had 5 almost 7 kids....
After mom passed from Inflammatory Cancer, he sold everything; or tossed it. He could not live with the momories, or maybe he wanted to being fresh.
He was a kind person with a  short fuse.

He continued to dance, dance and dance.   He joined groups, clubs, and even the old folks dance club.  He was invited to the presidential danceroom dining event, and being the only "professional dancing and dashing man" he was chosen and had to unforgettable opportunity to be Barbara Bush's partner.  They danced 3 or 4 times; I thin Geoge the lst was there, but he is and was obviously a clutz.  My memory is groggy these days; at the time my dad was so delighted.  What an honor for him.

Personally, I dont like any of that obnoxious environmentally destructivly positial eveil shits; but my father, a republican, was proud and happy.
That was so nice.

Unfortunately, I take after my mother.  I have the music, the voice, the rhythem; but 5 left feet....oh well.  my sisters and brothers are all dancers.

Felt good to express this moment in my father's life.
Thank you.

so much, thankyou

Indi, Thanks for sharing so much about your dad.

I think one of the reasons I like this show so much (besides the dancing) is the style, elegance, glitter, and romance.   You don't see that very often anymore.  Today's dancing lacks elegance and romance.  Goodness, I'm starting to sound like my parents.    Yikes.......

Odalys, we're in trouble when we say we're staring to sound like our parents!

Thanks for sharing the info abou dad. Isn't that funny that he married someone who didn't dance like he did?

Who do you think will win?

Or

Who do you think deserves to win?

Wow, this is one tight competition.  I think Marie has over stayed her welcome.  She needs to go home.  Now, how do we stop all those Osmonds from voting?  LOL
I think the finals will be between Helio and MelB.  They are both so good...I can't decide who should win.  This is by far the best season, JMO.
