Well just when you think things are getting better - bang!
Last night my son drove me to the ER - we thought a possible heart attack. I had an U/S of my legs, then a CT of my lungs - looking for clots. Thank God they found none. They took blood to check for heart attack, an perfromed an EKG. By this time is was 4-5 am and they wanted to do more testing, drug induced stress test, so placed me in the cardic ICU. (my bp was remaining very high 174/104).

Iam getting so tired of all this - 9 surgeries, chemo twice, a ct/pet scan that showed lesions on my kidney, thyroid, sinus, an area behind the eye, and activity in my spine/hip PLUS a number of mini strokes. I injured by back at school June 17or 18 and was to have pain management inject something in my spine next week to easy that pain.

The last few days my left reconstructed breast has become swollen and painful. My PS thinks it's LE in my chest. I am wondering if that could be causing all this. Anyone out there have T-LE? Has this happened to you? I so want to move on - putting all this behind me. When?

They are not addressing thr lesions at this time, but the heart.

It's 6:30 am. They came in about half an hour ago to take blood. The nurse told me no water or food until I have this drug induced stress test. That is a scary test, I had one a few years ago. They put you through a machine (something like a CT machine) and record your heart, then they administered a drug - continuiously - until your heart feels like its going to explode, if I recall correctly. Then put you back into the machine for more testing.

I just want to go home - and have a life again.

Dearest lady4law, yes indeed - at times it all seems so difficult and you look for answers as to when does this ride slow down, stop, and give you a moment to breath.   It must be a strange feeling that despite the BC they are now focused on your heart.  I am sending lots of strength and courage your way.  Hoping the cardiac tests comes out well and find some peace.

Thank you. I was discharged around 3:45, this afternoon. My bp was 98/61, very low for me as generally both numbers are all three digits.
Doesn't look like a heart attack, no clots, three tests, including the CT first day and the drug induced stress test this morning (4 hours).
All 3 drs want me to see my PS as my reconstrcted breasts are hard, painfull, and swollen - Jean

Oh Lady, I am so sorry you are going through this!
Could it be an infection?
That is what mine get like when they are infected.
I had one that had so much fluid between the expander and the skin that it looked like it was three times the size of the other.
My ps had to drain the fluid while I squeezed.
I think you need to get some fluid aspirated and then they should send it to an infection disease doc. they can then pick the correct antibiotcs for you.

G -
I did have 2 very bad infections when I had the expanders and required surgery first on the left side then 2 weeks later on the right. That surgery on the right left that side with scar tissue that is also a nasty lump.

The hospital performed a lot of blood work looking for lots of different things including looking for infections. My PS told me about 6 months ago, I had a mild case of Truncal Lumphadema. I am wondering if that's the problem. It's mainly in the left breast, but yesterday I noticed the right side started to get hard.

Six months befor my bc dx I had a pacemaker implanted. When they found the bc my Onc said the PM had to be moved to the right so they could radiate the left. Once the mast was done, he changed his mind as the cancer had not spread as they believed. In order to relocate the PM, they had to place connecting wires at the original site, as the wires had grown into the tissue and veins. When I saw my PET/CT it looked like a birds nest.

All that surgery is known to be the cause of TLE. I have no idea what to do,to lower the swelling. As the fluid build up is in the tissue there is no way to drain it with needles - it has to be pushed out. That's the reason for sleeves and PT massage. I wish it only needed a needle. Be so great to get it out in a few minutes. I read only a few days ago, that bras can cause this. It's that band under the breasts.
