Bev,

Let us know how your birthday went and with all of your family and your son!!!!!!  Post some pictures if you can!

How are you feeling?  Any more energy now?  I ended this past Thursday.  I feel pretty good!  I am so happy to be done with my treatments.  No burns left....just new baby skin and my hair is coming in but kinda slow, but that's ok.  I do not wear my wig anymore or hats.  Just going out as is!  It is so liberating!

We did it Bev!!!!!!!!

It was a busy, crazy week...very chaotic but full of lots of love and laughter.  My son, his family and daughter and her family came in on the 15th and stayed all week.  We have one daughter and family who live here locally.  It was so good to be able to spend time with all of them.  We had 18 people staying in two houses!  We filled three full pews in church on Sunday to see two of my granddaughters baptised.   My birthday was the 17th and was awesome!

The whole lower half of my breast is peeling off in chunks now and the area under my arm looks like it's ready to.  I think the new baby skin will be fine when this burned skin is all gone.  The inside of my breast is still sore and the port is causing me some pain, too (just sore).   I see the oncologist in a couple of weeks and will ask about this.  I'm having a lot of pain in my ankles, knees and hips that I think is from the Arimidex.  I need to ask about this, too.  And the residual cough from the flu last month is just hanging on.  I've heard from others though that this cough just doesn't want to give up.   Other than these things I really am feeling better.  I'm back to doing some housework and am itching to get out and do some yard work.  The pollen is so bad here though that I'll stay inside for now.

Ashley and Courtney in the baptismal pool...

Mike and I with all ten grandchildren...

My babies all grown up...Kevin, Amy and Jennifer...

Me and some of the crew.  You can see my hair in this one.  I've also just about given up my hats.

My son and his wife.  One last ride before going back to Texas.  We're storing the bike for him.

This is Kirby (1 year old...Amy's little one).  He didn't remember Kevin but bonded with him right away.  I love this picture and the next one.

There were a lot of cameras going this week and we probably have 400 - 500 pictures between us.  We had soooo much fun.

I'm so glad to see that you are doing well.  Where do you go from here?  Are you on any medications?   Hugs to you!!!

Bev,
It was SO GOOD to hear from you!!!!!!  You look wonderful and I just can't believe how much hair you have!  Way more than I do.  I will see if I can figure out how to post a picture!
I loved seeing all of your pictures and hearing about your family.  It is so good to be surrounded by all of that love isn't it.
Happy belated birthday and I wish you just a wonderful blessed year full of nothing but happiness and new memories and lots of LAUGHTER!

Since I am triple negative, I am finished with all treatments.  There are no more treatments that will work for me.  It is in the Lord's hands.  I totally trust Him with my life.  It is His.

My burn under my arm totally peeled away and now fresh, baby skin is there.  Where my lumpectomy was, it got really red from the boosts but never burned bad enough to peel.  Everything looks pretty good.

I am still very tired and really can't do much without getting tired.  I go to my oncologist that I haven't seen in 3 months this Friday.  They will run bloodwork and that's all I think.  They don't believe in scans unless you have symptoms.  Weird, huh!  Did you have scans done?  I haven't had the lst one yet.  I see my surgeon in 3 weeks and I am going to ask for some scans then I think.  If I ask for them they will do them.  I have great insurance, so I think I will go ahead and ask.

I am going to see if I can put a picture on here.

Keep in touch, OK!!!!!!!
Cheryl

Let's see if this works???  This was last Thursday....the last day of my radiation treatment.  This is my 3 best friends ever.....we have all been friends for over 25 yrs! and my sister is the one in the white shirt and brown jacket.  She drove up 2 1/2 hrs. to be with me!  It was a GREAT DAY!  We all went out to this cafe which had all kinds of homemade pastries/cakes/pies/coffees and teas!  We talked and cried for over 2 hrs.

I'm back from a lunch date and shopping with DH so more time to read and answer.

Beautiful pictures, Cheryl!  What a great looking bunch of ladies to celebrate with.  It has been such a blessing for me to have so much family and friend's support.

Your daughter and granddaughter are also gorgeous.  What a sweet little girl!  How old is she?

I am ER positive so will be on Arimidex for a long time.  I actually go in to the oncologist office once a month to have my port flushed and he always makes a point to stop and speak to me.  I have an appointment for a checkup in May.  I also see the surgeon again in May because he wants to check my skin to make sure everything went OK with the radiation.  I burned pretty bad where the boosts were and under my arm around the scar where the lymph nodes were removed.  That's the area that is giving me the most problems now.  I got a letter from my insurance company today encouraging me to have a breast MRI instead of a mammogram from now on.  I was quite surprised but glad to know that they will pay for it.  I'm taking copies of it to both doctors.

I also believe that whatever is going to happen now is up to the Lord and I'm comfortable with whatever His decision is.  I'm at peace with it.   I just finished reading a book titled "90 Minutes in Heaven".   I've always believed in heaven and who waits for me there but reading this book just confirmed it.  It was sad but so very uplifting at the same time and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Take care!

Thanks, Gina.  That is so sweet of you.

I wish I felt like this was all over.  I'm having a very hard time with depression and feeling overwhelmed.  No matter what I do I feel like I'm always looking for the recurrence.  My odds aren't the greatest but I know I need to find a way to deal with it.  My doctor prescribed Effexor during my radiation treatments and it helped with the anxiety but the side effects were miserable so I stopped.  I have to see him again next week and will ask about trying something else.

I am very, very glad that the radiation is over.  I'm still peeling but the raw areas have healed finally.

I'm going to see if I can save my medal to my computer, print it out and put it in my scrapbook.

Thanks again!!!

Hey, Bev.  Do you do good scotch?  Relaxing, the price is good, and the side effects are veeeeeery predictible.

I was offered tranqs after my husband died.  I couldn't handle the se's either.  The cure is worse than the disease!  I opted for the best of the brewer's art.

Thanks, Fancy.  I'm not much of a drinker but sometimes wish I was.  If we can't find something that doesn't make me feel like crawling out of my skin or make my hands shake so bad I can't pour a cup of coffee or be able to stay awake in the day time but be able to sleep at night or be forgetful and disoriented...then I don't want any of it.

That scotch is sounding mighty good right now.

Bev, melatonin at night gives me a good night's sleep.  It has anti-tumor properties if you take enough of it.

Camomile and passionflower are a soothing herbal combination.  Camomile and mint make a nice tea.  Have you tried meditation?  Visualization?  If  you were at CTCA, you could go see the Mind and Body med folks, and they would teach you all about this stuff.

Our bodies can heal themselves if we give them a chance.  Which reminds me, I've been slacking off on this sort of stuff.  I need to get back to it.
