Oh my, this is SO SAD!
May God comfort her dear son and her SO and her loving family.
I just know she is in heaven with our other angels... TOO MANY - just TOO MANY.

God Bless Amy.

The outpouring of love and kindness has been overwhelming.  Although our hearts are broken we share in the fact that so many of you are grieving with us.  Our dear friend, Benny Campbell with Attalla Florist in Attalla AL is preparing a special pink rose armour for Amy that will be fitting for our Princess Warrior.  Please remember Benny and his family in your prayers.  They have a young cancer fighter in their midst who lives in New York.  I will see if I can find out if she has a caringbridge site and pass it along to you.

Do not stand by me and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am in a thousand winds that blow,
I am the softly falling snow.
I am the gentle showers of rain,
I am the fields of ripening grain.
I am in the morning hush,
I am in the graceful rush
Of beautiful birds in circling flight,
I am the starshine of the night.
I am in the flowers that bloom,
I am in a quiet room.
I am in the birds that sing,
I am in each lovely thing.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Please join us Tuesday evening, October 20th,  5PM – 8PM at Crestwood Funeral Home (Gadsden AL) as we say good-bye to a brave princess warrior, Amy Vinson, 41, who lost a fierce battle against breast cancer on Sunday, October 18th, 2009.  She taught us all that our cup is half full, never half empty; never give up no matter how great the task or how overwhelming the odds; and life is life so fight for it.  There is no doubt that Amy was greeted in heaven by her Dad, William G. “Billy” Vinson, and her Grandparents, J C. and Emma Miller; John and Pluma Vinson.

She was a 1986 graduate of Glencoe High School, attended Gadsden State Community College and Jacksonville State University.  She was employed with Alabama Power Company, Marketing Department.

She leaves behind a precious gift, her Son, Tucker Weems; her ever faithful and supportive Mom, Elizabeth Vinson, three sisters:   Lou Anne (Del) Downey, Regina (George) Ford, Beth (Robert) Turner and a very special Aunt and Uncle, Martha and Allen Bryan.   Amy is also survived by a wonderful extended family that includes Christie and Rod Weems; Geraldine and Tom Weems; Will (Anne) Womack; Allyson , Allen and Ben Copeland; Jesse Womack; Amanda , Jason and Jasper Moncus; Jill (Tommy) Wachs; Karen(Larry) Baker;  Nelda Miller; Frances Helms; and a special Great Aunt Edith Mullino.

The family will hold a private graveside service at a later date.  Pallbearers will be Del Downey, George Ford, Robert Turner, Mac Helms, Will Womack, Jesse Womack, Allen Copeland, Sloan Bryan, and Jason Moncus.  Honorary pallbearer will be Jake Bryan.

A special thank you to Dr. John Carpenter, the Kirklin Clinic; Dr. Rodney Tucker, UAB Palliative Care Unit; Dr. Jason Junkins, Cassie Kellett and the staff at Doctor’s Care; Jenny and Misty with Alacare Hospice; First United Methodist Church of Glencoe; Ken Payne and Family; and the employees of Alabama Power Company.  Your compassion was beyond the call of duty.

Flowers will be accepted or a donation can be sent to the Tucker Weems Scholarship Fund that has been established at Regions Bank, 201 Broad Street, Gadsden, Alabama  35901, Attention:  Jennifer Jackson, Assistant Vice President.  Online condolences can be posted

Liz, thanks for posting Amy's obituary.  She fought a long and hard battle - she was much too young for this.
